A MAC Stylishly Yours Look (not from the actual collection)

I prefer using Bare Escentuals and minerals in general but I really like the looks the MAC artists come up with. I was trying to think of something to wear today when I got the e-mail about MAC's Stylishly Yours collection. Smashbox also sent out an e-mail with a preview of their spring makeup and it also had this brigh pink peach mix in the looks. So I guess bright pink and peach will be popular this spring. I like the look so I decided to copy it.

For some reason I couldn't save the picture in the e-mail as one picture. But this will give you some idea of the original look.

Snomandance Pink Peaches lash to crease with cultured pearl over it,

MAC Reflects Blackened Red

I guess I'm on a glitter kick. Ever since I had some success with the extreme glimmers and the Sephora Glitter brush I've been using more and more glitter. So today I decided to go all out and try using MAC's Reflects Blackened Red which I've had for about a year and never used. It was not as crazy looking or as red as I thought it would be. It actually leans a little purple against the black backgrond (hence the use of Milk as the highlight). I think there were a few teal sparkles left on the glitter brush, sorry about that.

EYES:

PTFE, wr/cr,
Buxom Smokin Pistol stick lash to crease
blended out and shaped to a point in the outer corner,
MAC Reflects Blackened Red over smokin' pistol,
MAC Milk under brow and inner corner,
Smokin' pistol along outer 1/2ish of lower lash line,
Flawless definition mascara with Buxom mascara over it.

CHEEKS: Smashbox Beige
LIPS: BE Sherbert lipstick with Tarte Charmed
lightly over it and a little Poof in the center.

Two Crazy Looks with a Video

Today I had no plan. I didn't really feel like putting on makeup or getting out of bed (why is it so hard to get up in winter?). So this look is the result of me selecting whatever appealed to me in the moment.
Update: I finally got the video for the second look to upload. I added it at the end.

EYES:
PTFE, wr/cr,
Buxom Stay There in Saint Bernard lash to crease and blended up,
MAC Reflects teal lash to crease on inner 1/2ish,
MAC Night Light in crease and above crease and outer corner,
Benefit Lust duster in Snow bunny to blend out the edges of night light and under the brow and inner corner,
KVD Gunner and another green in outer crease and 1/3 of lid,
KVD Lucifer lightly in crease and outer corner to darken and wet lined on top,
UD 24/7 liner in covet along lower lash line blended out with KVD shadows on the inner 1/2,
Falsies Black Drama mascara.

CHEEKS: Desert Rose blush
LIPS: Buxom London with Tarte Charmed tinted lip balm over it.

I spent most of Sunday working on the video for this look but youtube won't let me upload it. So I have no idea if I will ever be able to figure out what is wrong and get it uploaded. If I do I'll update the post with the video.

New Train Case: Yazmo TS-20

I have been wanting a new train case for a while. I had my daily makeup in two seperate cases. One was the Travelon train case and the other was really just a cardboard insert with telescoping trays. I kept my eye stuff in the Travelon case and my face stuff in the other one. I wanted to get a bigger case that I could use for both.

After looking for a long time I came across the Yazmo TS-20. It looked perfect because it has three teirs on each side plus a very large center space. I also like that the two bottom trays of each side slide out. They slide out all the way so you can see clearly what is in the bottom tray. I also think the sliding mechinism is more sturdy than the telescoping sort. I thought that this case would be big enough to put all my face stuff on one side and the eye stuff on the other. That is how I ended up organizing it.

The case is quite big and would fit a lot of eye shadow. The trays fit two BE eye shadows on their sides and one mini BE shadow on its side. A tray also fits two blushes side by side. The trays are too shallow to put a BE blush on its side, but you can stand up an old style MAC pigment jar in the tray. The trays come with removable dividers so you can adjust the sections as you see fit.

The large opening at the bottom is very deep. You will see that I have BE blushes on their sides and still have plenty of room. I can stand up a bottle of BE face primer in the bottom with no problem.
The case is heavy even when it is not filled but that is not a big deal to me. It does have wheels and a telescoping handle that will make it easy to take on trips. The handle and wheels are not removable. In some videos I saw when researching this case someone had one with removable wheels, so just keep that in mind.

I had no problem ordering from Yazmo. The product was delivered as promised and it was the right product. They included a free brush set. There are two coupon codes that you can use for 10% off:
YAZDISCOUNT

RENREN

I tried the RENREN code first but it did not take off the right amount so I used the other one and it worked.

I will have to use the case for a while to really decide if I like it or not. My first impression is positive but I will update this once I have had it for a while. I re organized the eye shadow side since I took the pictures. I put the KVD palettes in the bottom section and put all my MAC pigments in the bottom teir.

If your favorite colour is blue...

and your second favorite colour is green, you might like this look. I love MAC's Landscape green and usually wear it with bright colours but I wanted to try it mixed with some deep blues. I think the overall effect has a kind of dream-y hazy-ness that I like. Using the relatively matte shades with one irridescient blue is what creates the haze, I think. I like it.

I also decided to wear Sample Sale on my nails today--I love it! It is very festive. Just FYI I updated the nail polish post with pics of Teal We Meet again if anyone is interested.

Bare Escentuals Extreme Plum

This didn't quite turn out like I wanted it too. Thought extreme plum would be darker and that stardust would look a bit more purple. It looks frosty. But I guess I was in the mood for a cool face today so maybe it worked out.
