Bare Escentuals Ready: The Dream Sequence and Meeting Leslie!

I had an awesome time at the Boutique on Tuesday. I got to meet Leslie and two other Angels!! Leslie was so nice and she looked great. I was a little nervous to meet her and I'm not sure I said anything significant or coherent, but she was great. She took a picture of my eye shadow with her camera. I also got a T-shirt. It was really great to meet Amy and Brenda, two other Angels. It is fun to meet people that are fans of BE like I am.

Leslie and Me

Leslie took a picture of my eyes!!

Us chatting...I'm 6 months pregnant and I look it standing next to Leslie--she is so pretty and tiny!!

This is Amy, Brenda, Leslie and Me. Leslie with her Angels!!

The Boutique actually had the new Ready duos and quads in stock and so I was able to buy one. As with most new products I like to buy one just to see if I'm going to like them. I tested all the duos and quads on my hand and was suprised to find that I like a lot of them.

I ended up buying The Dream Sequence which is the limited edition purple quad.
The colours are 500 Thread Count which is a light creamy white--maybe similar to purist or soul but with no sheen. This is a matte shadow
Romp which is a champange mauve--it kind of looks like Celestine but there is a definite mauve overtone that is more apparent once you put it on. Romp has somthing similar to a glimmer texture.
Boudior which is a bright midtone purple that is very similar to Wildflower. It is really pretty!! This is not a glimmer but it is irridescent and so it is not matte.
Nightcap which is similar to Bordeaux but brighter and more purple. Nightcap is matte.

I was hoping I wouldn't like the pressed shadows that much but I am really impressed. The mattes are not chalky and they really have a smooth and silky texture. The shadows are very pigmented, don't fade and blend really easily. I used the sponge to apply Romp in the first look and that worked pretty well but I used my brushes for all the other applications and I think I will continue to do that. I used primer under the shadows and had no allergic reactions. I don't tend to wear neutrals that often and the Reday collections seems to be mostly neutrals, but I think I will buy at least a few more palettes. I am definitly going to get at least one of the 8.0 palettes coming in November and there are a few duos I really want as well.

Overall I am very impressed with the new solid minerals. If I were you I'd give them a try.

Leslie is coming to Omaha! Plus two looks

Leslie is coming to Omaha today!! She will be at the boutique from 6-8pm. I am going to see her. Hoepfully I will get to talk to her and get a picture with her. I hope there will be people there but I don't want it to be too croweded so I can talk to her. I am so excited that I will finally get to meet her!!!!

I am wearing the blue look today becuase Leslie commented on a blue look I did that I posted on Facebook. I doubt she will recognize me but I love blue and was happy to finally make a decision about what to wear. I will report back with all the details tomorrow.

Bare Escentuals: And Away We Glow

During the preview sale we got to see one of the holiday kits: And Away We Glow. This kit has a new eye shadow called Swanky that is a light cream with a sheen and some sparkle. We you look at it in the jar you will think it is white but if you put it next to Snowflake you will see that it is actually cream. There is also a new primmetime primer shadow in Dove Gray in this kit. It is a nice cool light gray, it has some purple undertones in it but they don't show up on the eye. This is much lighter than I thought it would be and would make a great quick look by itself. Luxury blush is a neutral pinky peach colour. Pretty Amazing Flair is also a nude peachy pink. Flair is a gloss, it feels light and glossy light the natural lip glosses. The Round the Clock waterproof liner in Midnight is nice, but the tip broke off while I was lining. After I swatched it on my hand I thought it was going to go on really smooth but once I started lining it seemed to get tacky. I didn't really test the waterproof aspect of this liner pencil. Turn on is a really pretty pink highlighter. You could easily use this as an eye shadow.

BE Cares Tenderheart and one other look

I was able to get the new BE care eye shadow Tenderheart. When I first swatched it on my hand it looked like a dark plum base with a mauve pink sheen (hind of like heart with a smoky plum base). But on my eye in this look it looks more brown.

I also got the Buxom Travel in Style Duo with New Orleans buxom lipstick and Tara buxom gloss. It is on sale at sephora for $12 so it was a steal. I really like this duo. The buxom lipstick is more pink than I thought it would be based on the way it looks in the tube.
