This is the Spotlight On: High Shine Eye Shadow kit. There are other spotlight on kits but this is the only on that I wanted because I love the High Shine eye shadows. High Shine luster is a beautiful soft gold with grey undertones—it is a very unique colour. Rock Star is black with sliver and multicoloured sparkle. Luster is beautiful and worth having.
I am also wearing the new Flawless Definition Lengthen and Curl mascara. Since BE has been doing a good job with mascara lately I thought I would give this a try. It is a very good lengthening mascara and I did see a little bit of curl in my lashes, more than I get with ordinary mascara. But it is not as dramatic as you get when you curl your lashes with an eye lash curler. The formula does not add very much volume so if you need volume or just like more volume you might find this mascara too light.
High Shine Luster Alone
EYES: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, 50/50 mix well rested/clear radiance all over, Snow under brow, High Shine Luster lash into crease, Rock Star in crease and wet lined on top, Flawless Definition Lengthen and Curl mascara.
CHEEKS: Pink Petal blush LIPS Buxom Lip Tarnish in Caught on Tape blotted twice.
EYES: Too Faced Shadow Insurance, 50/50 mix well rested/clear radince all over, Chenille lash to brow, Marichino lash into crease on outer 3/4, Rock Star in outer corner to darken and wet lined on top, Tarte mascara.
A while ago I saw this cover of the New Yorker and thought that it would make a great smoky eye. Then today someone posted this tutorial by Bravon (a much loved Bare Escentuals makeup artist) where he goes step by step and explains how to do a pink smoky eye. So I decided to do a look based on these two sources of inspiration.
Bravon suggests Snowflake, a smoky purple/grey, Angel and the Big & Bright eye liner in black for his pink smoky eye but I wanted something a little more cranberry so I went with Snowflake, Popular and Rock Star.
If you wanted to use his colour choices I think Smoky Sequins or Amythest would be a nice crease colour. Neither of them are grey but they are both nice dark sparkly purples.
EYES: TFSI, wr/cr, Snowflake lash to brow, Rock Star in crease and outer 1/4ish, Popular lash to crease on inner 3/4, Rock star wet lined on top, Flawless Mascara.
CHEEKS: Glee Radiance as blush LIPS: Sticky Buns/Muffin Top
