Touched by Truth

I did this look in response to the mirror image challenge on Majyk this week (http://www.majykal.com/forums/index.php ). I din't think I would like it because I've been indifferent to pictures I've seen with neutral lids and blue liner, but I really like it. I also like that this is a really quick and easy look for days when you are in a hurry. I like that it is simple but still has some personality.

As a side note I am really liking the UDPP Eden. I love that it neutralizes my lids but doesn't dry them out like the regular UDPP. I would really love it if they came out with a version of eden that was less yellow and more neutral.

Divas on the Fifth

I got my Sitting Pretty on the 5th collection from the she space yesterday so I had to give some of the colours a try. I really love Divas on the fifth--it is a nice slate purple grey. It looks lighter on then in the jar.

Orange You Glad I Was Born

It was DH's birthday yesterday so I decided to try to wear his favorite colour on my eyes. His favorite colour--Orange! So this is a mellowed out orange look. The world needs you by itself looked electric so I used some bronzy coppery colours to tone it down a smidge.

I also bought Last Blast Fusion this weekend. It is supposed to be a combination of their length and volume formulas. I like it but it isn't that much different than the kind that comes in the orange tube. It is a bit clumpy on the brush but it is not clumpy once I put it on.

Sephora Sale New-ness

The things I ordered from Sephora with the 15% off sale arrived today. I got:
Bare escentuals brow powder in Brunette
Leslie Blodget Golden Light roller ball perfume
Amazing Cosmetics eye shadow primer in Light
Sephora Glitter "brush" (it's more like a spatula)

I like to use all my new stuff right away so I had to do a look using the primer, and glitter brush. The glitter brush works pretty well. I used it with BE extreme plum. I managed to get some colour and sparkle using the brush but I also got a lot of fall out. I think I need to try it using actual glitter. I will review it more thoroughly once I've tried it with real glitter.

The primer is creamy and opaque. It is easy to apply and will cover up any eyelid discolouration. I didn't need to use my wr/cr mix after the primer which saved me a little time. My eye shadow applied smoothly, even the matte colour I used. The one possible con is that I think it makes my lids look a little dry or something. I will see if using a thinner layer helps with this. I don't really know what the staying power is yet but so far so good--I'll give an update once I've used it for a while.

Golden Light is a nice fresh light scent. It has a lemon-y note mingled with floral notes. When it dries down it fades and becomes sweeter. The rollerball sticks a little so it wasn't easy to apply.

I also wanted to review two face washes that I got a few weeks ago and really like. The first one is St. Ives Green Tea face scrub. The scrubbing granules in this scrub are very fine (not anything like the regular Apricot scrub). I think this face wash does a great job of exfoliating while not irritating my skin. I can even use it with my clarasonic.

The other face wash I'm using is the Loreal 360 face scrub. It also gently exfoliates and cleanses. It doesn't really have the texture of a scrub. It feels more like a face wash with beads in it. I can also use this one with my clarisonic. It comes with a "scrublet" that is really soft. I'm not sure if it helps to exfolitate but it feels nice.

I have been alternating between these two cleansers for the last two weeks and my skin seems to be breaking out less. So right now I give both of these a big thumbs up!

The She Space: Tinkerbell Crashed

I was watching TV last night and someone was wearing a really pretty purple look and that is what inspired this look. It kind of reminds me of a MAC collection that came out last year, but I can't remember the names of the shadows in that collection (maybe shadowy lady or something like that was one of the colours?)

I think this would be a good wedding look.
You could probably get a similar look with BE by using Jolie (hugs or herbal tea), Desire or soul sister and Eclipse.

Are the close-ups too big?

A Quick Look: The She Space Inspired Meltdown

On days when I'm in a hurry I have been using a dark shadow lash to crease and blended above the crease a little instead of doing a full look. Doing it this way gives me definition but allows me to skip the liner. It's not very creative but it will do in a hurry :)
