True Love

My husband and I are celebrating our 5-year anniversary this week. We try to go back to visit the falls where we got engaged every year. This was my look for our day of mini golf and go carts.

For this look I used the purple side of the Kat Von D True Love Palette. I think I'm wearing BE TTYL blush and gelato lipstick with NYX Pink Nude in the center.

Crazy for Copper

Sometimes when I have no idea what to wear I ask my husband what I should wear. Today he suggested copper. Brass Roots is probably the most copper eye shadow I own so it was the natural choice.

In the buff under brow on outer 2/3,
Golden Earth in crease and outer corner,
Brass Roots lash to crease on outer 2/3,
In the Buff lash to crease on inner 1/3,

Classic Blue look

Today's look is a very common blue look. There are just some colour combinations you can't go wrong with, blue and white is one of those. Blues look great with so many other colours (greens, pinks, cremes, yelleow, brown) but if you want a simple combination that will play up the blue just pair it with any white. I picked moonstruck because it has the slightest hint of purple in it that I thought might show up when mixed with the HS Electric (I don't think it does but it still looks nice).

EYES:
TFSI, wr/cr,
Moonstruck under brow,
HS Electric lash belended into crease on outer 3/4,
Moonstruck lash to crease on inner 1/4ish,
Luxe dry lined on top and outer corner of lower lashes,
Stellitos curling mascara.

CHEEKS: TTYL
LIPS: Bavarian Creme

1970s and an Old Eye Shadow Foe

It is really hard for me to give away or sell BE eye shadows that don't work for me. There really aren't that many but I have come across a few that I just can't seem to make work or that I don't like (pure spice). But I think there is a good reason I am so reluctant to get rid of eye shadows I don't like and the reason is that some time down the road I will give the shadow another try and low and behold I'll like it! This has happened to me a few times and it happended again today with Bordeaux. I used to hate bordeaux because it is so matte and it always made me look weird but I think it looks pretty with BFF. So before you sell or give away an eye shadow you think you don't like just give it one more try.

The first look I'm posting was inspired by last weeks cover of the New Yorker. The cover had a drawing with orange lines over a cranberry purple and I thought it looked nice.

EYES:
TFSI, wr/cr,
Vanilla Sugar under brow,
1970's lash to crease,
Elegant Diamond in crease,
Here Kitty in outer 1/4 of crease and outer corner,
Legit wet lined on top,

EYES:

A Neutral Look

I don't wear browns that often so I thought I should post this look. This is a good look if you work in an office that perfers minimal makeup. I really like Happiness because even though it is brown it has a hint of purple in it.

EYES:
TFSI, wr/cr,
Heavenly diamond under brow,
Blissful Pearl lash to crease,
Happiness in crease and outer corner,
Kir Royal wet line don top,
mascara.

CHEEKS: Glee Radiance and Precious Pearl Blush

Bare Escentuals Re-Think A-D #2

This is a look with the second installment of the Re-Think Beauty A-D from QVC. I actually used the B&B liner in Slate this time. I really like the colour of Slate and I wish there was a mineral version of it. The eye shadow, Inspire, is an olive-y taupe shade with bright blue green sparkles in it. Applied the way I did for this look you can't really see the sparkles very much. I think I will try it by itself and see how that goes. Although Inspire is a totally different colour than Rebel, the sparkles in Rebel seem very similar to the ones in Inspire. The blush is a very nice pink--I don't really see any peach tones in it but in the instructions in the booklet it says to use flourish as an eye shadow for a pinky peach base, so maybe it does have some peach in it, but it doesn't look like it in the jar or on my skin as a blush. Peach cobbler is definitly peach with some brown tones. It is in the same family as Praline but it is lighter and has sparkles (praline doesn't have any sparkle).

EYES:
BPTFE, wr/cr,
Flourish lash to crease on inner 1/2,
Inspire lash into crease on outer 2/3 and foiled lash to crease on outer 1/2ish,
B&B Slate liner on top,
Flawless mascara.

CHEEKS: Flourish blush
LIPS: Peach Cobbler lip gloss
