Green Smoky Eye Inspired by MUFE Smoky Palette

A few people have been talking about the Make Up Forever Smoky Palette that was supposed to be at Sephora but hasn't showed up yet. In any case the looks that are associated with this palette in the advertizing are really pretty. So I decided to do a look inspired by the green look. I think I will try to do the brown one tomorrow. Here are the MUFE looks:

I am going to put and (R) next to shadows that are from the Bare Escentuals Ready Palettes. Some of the shadows in the palettes have the same name as the loose minerals so it might get confusing.
EYES:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance,
50/50 mix well rested/clear radiance all over,
LORAC Beige lash to brow,
Swanky under brow and inner corner,
For Real lash into crease on most of lid and dry lined along lower lash line,

Big and Bright in Intense black along upper and lower lash line softened with For Real,
Falsies mascara.

CHEEKS: TTYL blush
LIPS: Sydney Buxom with a little bit of Tarte Pouty smudged into it.

Two looks: Dark and Diffused crease

I used the same method for both of these looks. I wanted to make sure my outer corner and crease were dark but I also wanted it to look diffused. So I did the lid colour and then used the darker colour first and then the medium toned shade over it. I think it worked really will with the High Shine colour. I think the second look looked better in person.

Baby Blue

One of the challenges on Majyk this week was to do a pastel look. I thought I would use No Eye Deer as the main colour in this look but I think everything blends together and it doesn't really look very pastel overall.

Another thing the Tarte lipstains are good for is using them over the buxom lipsticks or other lipsticks to add just a hint of pink or a tiny bit more colour or a little glossy-ness. One swipe of the Tarte stain is usually enough. I think pouty looks really nice over sydney.

EYES:

Primetime for eyes,
50/50 mix well rested/clear radaince all over,
Eye Bright under brow and inner corner,
Buxom Stay There Bull dog lash blended into crease on outer 2/3ish,
No Eye Deer lash to crease on inner 1/2ish,
Crusin' Teddi lash to crease in center of lid,
Bondi Beach wet lined on top, Big and Bright midnight liner along lower lash line,
Falsies Black Drama mascara.

CHEEKS: Pink Ice Blush
LIPS: Sydney Buxom with a little bit of Tarte Pouty blended into it.

Buxom Newness: 5" Stilettos, Cocker Spaniel, Sheepdog, and Sydney

I got all kinds of new new stuff this week. I decided to get some a few of the new Buxom items released this month. I love the Stay There shadows so I got two of the new colours--Sheepdog and Cocker Spaniel--there are two others Collie and Husky. I think I will get Husky at some point.
I think some people will be pleased to see the names of the Buxom lipstick and smoky eye stick at the bottom in good size print.

Cocker Spaniel is interesting. It has a pink base with iridescent pink sparkle. If you put it on heavily it shows up as a light pink. If you do a light layer it, and you have a skin tone like mine, it is almost invisible. I had to really pack it on to get a good swatch.

Sheepdog is beautiful! It is white with sparkle but it doesn't seem to be coloured sparkle. When I swatched it it went on opaque so I don't think I'll have any trouble getting it to show up (I haven't worn it yet so I can't say for sure). I'll update this once I've used it a bit.

5" stilettos is the purple buxom eye shadow stick. This is very dark on the skin and does not look really purple unless you are in good lighting. The swatch is with a flash so you can see the purple in it. I think smudged out it would make a nice smoky eye. I think this stick is creamer than Smokin' Pistol.

Sydney Buxom lipstick is a flesh-y pink. When I put this on alone it looks just like my regular lips only maybe a 1/2 shade darker. This will be invisible on some people. I think I will use this under gloss or when I need a really natural lip and don't want to use a pale pink.

I decided to use cocker spaniel and 5" stiletto and I couldn't resist using Wowza and Chuckle again. (I used wowza very lightly in the crease and it looks pink)
