Smokey Metallic Eye take 2

I was really curious to see what Steam looked like foiled so I thought I would use this kit again but foil both colours. I think they both look good foiled and I think Pewter would look great foiled from lash to crease by itself. I really like this kit.

EYES:
Too Faced Shadow Insurance,
50/50 mix well rested/clear radince all over,
Steam dry under brow,
High Shine Pewter dry in crease,
High Shine Pewter foiled lash to crease on outer 1/2ish,
Steam foiled lash to crease on inner 1/2ish,
KVD Lucifer wet lined on top HS Pewter dry on lower lash line,
Flawless Definition volumizing mascara.

I'm back from a little vacation

Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I was in Louisana visiting my mom for spring break. Sometimes when I'm there I have time to post but I was really busy this time. It is always lots of fun to hang out with my mom and see old friends. I was there around Mardi Gras so things were a bit crazy.

Here is my Mardi Gras look:
I used BE rock Crystal under the brow, MAC Golden Lemon lash to crease, MAC Landscape Green in the crease, MAC Grape in the outer corner and wet lined on top. I don't remember what blush and lippie I was wearing. The lighting in my moms house is really different than mine so the pictures are a bit washed out.

My look for today was a super fast look. I got up late and had to go grocery shopping so I needed to get ready quickly. I think I might do quick looks as a theme for the first few days of next week (I have some newness on the way so I'm sure I'll want to play with that when I get it).

EYES:

Too Faced Shadow Insurance,
50/50 mix well rested/clear radince all over,
Cultured Pearl lash to brow,
High Shine Moonshine lash into crease,
Fog in and above crease,
Buxom 5" Stelettos lined on top,
Tarte mascara.

Bare Escentuals: Destination Sydney

So much to report.

I got my Destination Sydney kit yesterday and I love it! But before I get to the kit I just want to mention the Tapered Crease Brush. I got the Tapered Crease Brush free with my order (there was a code) and when I got it I noticed that it was cut differently than my other tapered crease brush. The new one is stiffer and comes to a more pronounced point than my old one. I’m not sure if this is a change in design or if they are just inconsistent about how they cut the brushes but the new one is different. I used the new one for my look today and although it worked pretty well and I like the more pronounced point, it shed like crazy. Maybe if I wash it or use it a few more times the shedding will stop, I hope so.

On to the Destination Sydney! I love all the colours in this kit. The Bondi Beach (the blue) unlike anything I own. I love it! It is bright but dark, so you can use it as a lid colour or a liner. Sydney is a cream/yellow with a medium sheen (it has more sheen than soul but less than BFF). On the eye it does not look yellow, it is just a bright neutral—it look like really bright sunlight. Treasure Island is not new, it came out in the Cast Away kit, but it is really pretty as well. Treasure Island is a brown with some gold and a hint of green. I’m not sure swatches do it justices. Wet it has a pearly texture that I really love. This kit is a perfect summer look—it is cheerful and sunny. Even though Sydney is close to Soul I think the textural difference makes it worth having. I’m glad I got this kit. Hopefully they will make Sydney and Bondi Beach part of the permanent line.

The bag that comes with this kit is really cute too.

Buxom Newness: 5" Stilettos, Cocker Spaniel, Sheepdog, and Sydney

I got all kinds of new new stuff this week. I decided to get some a few of the new Buxom items released this month. I love the Stay There shadows so I got two of the new colours--Sheepdog and Cocker Spaniel--there are two others Collie and Husky. I think I will get Husky at some point.
I think some people will be pleased to see the names of the Buxom lipstick and smoky eye stick at the bottom in good size print.

Cocker Spaniel is interesting. It has a pink base with iridescent pink sparkle. If you put it on heavily it shows up as a light pink. If you do a light layer it, and you have a skin tone like mine, it is almost invisible. I had to really pack it on to get a good swatch.

Sheepdog is beautiful! It is white with sparkle but it doesn't seem to be coloured sparkle. When I swatched it it went on opaque so I don't think I'll have any trouble getting it to show up (I haven't worn it yet so I can't say for sure). I'll update this once I've used it a bit.

5" stilettos is the purple buxom eye shadow stick. This is very dark on the skin and does not look really purple unless you are in good lighting. The swatch is with a flash so you can see the purple in it. I think smudged out it would make a nice smoky eye. I think this stick is creamer than Smokin' Pistol.

Sydney Buxom lipstick is a flesh-y pink. When I put this on alone it looks just like my regular lips only maybe a 1/2 shade darker. This will be invisible on some people. I think I will use this under gloss or when I need a really natural lip and don't want to use a pale pink.

I decided to use cocker spaniel and 5" stiletto and I couldn't resist using Wowza and Chuckle again. (I used wowza very lightly in the crease and it looks pink)
