A look with some Bare Minerals holiday colours I already have

I was looking at all the holiday kits last night and it inspired me to do a look with some of the colours in the new kits that I already have. I really miss using all my shadows!

 

 

EYES: Steam lash to brow,
Gem lash into crease on outer 1/2,
Mistletoe center of lid,
Lagoon wet lined on top, Gem dry lined on bottom,
Lash Domination mascara.

Three Tarte Lipstains Three Looks

I wanted to wait to post these looks until I had worn all three lipstains. Overall I really like the Tarte Lipsurgence crayons. I think they stay on pretty well. They do not last all day but you will have colour on your lips all day. The matte lipstain did come closest to lasting all day. I don't usually wear a matte lip so I wanted to put gloss over the stain but didn't. The sparkly texture feels smooth on the lips. It catches the light in a nice way and is not frosty or weird looking. I think my favorite texture is the the glossy texture. I like that the glossy texture can go on sheer but be built up. I like the feel of those the best. I think out of this set I like Moody and Pouty best. Pouty is a little darker than I thought it would be. I wish they would make a set like this in some of the lighter shades.

I tried to curl my hair with rollers--it ended up looking poofy and not the way I was hoping it would look.

Smokey Metallic Eye take 2

I was really curious to see what Steam looked like foiled so I thought I would use this kit again but foil both colours. I think they both look good foiled and I think Pewter would look great foiled from lash to crease by itself. I really like this kit.

Bare Escentuals: Smoky Metallic Eye

This is one of the new kits from the last Q show. This kit comes with Steam eye shadow, High Shine Pewter, Big and Bright liner in Black Gold, and a small tapered eye shadow brush.

Steam is an interesting colour. It looks like a very light grey with sparkle in it in the jar but when swatched it almost looks creamy with a hint of gold. On my eye it looks neutral--it does not look grey or gold.

High Shine Pewter is not like any of the other high shine colours I have. It is a mid-tone shade, it seems to have a gray-ish purple base with a pewter shine. It looks purple in some swatches and up close on my eye (when I was putting it on) it looked kind of purple to me, but once I blended it and looked at it again it really does look pewter.

Big and Bright Liner in Black Gold actually seems to be a very dark brown/black. I'm not sure you can really see that in the swatch of it but it is lighter than Intense black and clearly more brown. It does seem to have maybe just a hint of gold sparkle but it is very hard to tell for sure.

Overall I like these colours. I want to foil steam and see what happens. I don't have anything like either of these colours so I am very happy to add them to my collection.
