Almost an Addict and Faux Lagoon

Fortunately or unfortunately my Bare Escentuals collection is big enough that I have one or two eye colours from many of the new kits featured in the May show. So I decided to do looks that are similar to the Bare Escentuals Addicts kit and the Bare Lagoon kit. The only colour I am missing from the BEA kit is emotion, so I used eclipse instead (I've heard they are close). I have the blush and lip gloss from bare lagoon but neither of the eye colours. Some on BEA have said that Mambo is close to Bamboo so that's what I used. I only saw a swatch of the liner online but based on that I chose Marina, so hopefully that is close. If you don't have Marina French navy would work just as well.
I did get Sweet Siren and the June TSV so I will do looks with those once I get them.

I really like how both combos turned out, but I especially like the one with Bamboo.

I did get my hair cut please try not to laugh too hard--I hate it!

Mixology: Apocalypse and Sour

Mixology is a great little mineral makeup company. I really like Rae's eye shadows and her blush. I also use her foundation as concealer--I think it gives really opaque coverage for trouble spots. I got a few of her new colours a while ago and thought I'd give them a try. Sour is an old favorite.

Pink Smoky Eye Video

A while ago I saw this cover of the New Yorker and thought that it would make a great smoky eye. Then today someone posted this tutorial by Bravon (a much loved Bare Escentuals makeup artist) where he goes step by step and explains how to do a pink smoky eye. So I decided to do a look based on these two sources of inspiration.

Bravon suggests Snowflake, a smoky purple/grey, Angel and the Big & Bright eye liner in black for his pink smoky eye but I wanted something a little more cranberry so I went with Snowflake, Popular and Rock Star.

If you wanted to use his colour choices I think Smoky Sequins or Amythest would be a nice crease colour. Neither of them are grey but they are both nice dark sparkly purples.

EYES:
TFSI, wr/cr,
Snowflake lash to brow,
Rock Star in crease and outer 1/4ish,
Popular lash to crease on inner 3/4,
Rock star wet lined on top,
Flawless Mascara.

CHEEKS: Glee Radiance as blush
LIPS: Sticky Buns/Muffin Top

And here is the video:

Key Lime and Trinity

When I first got Trinity I was lukewarm about it, but I really like it in this combo and I think I will use it more now.

EYES: AC primer (I think it dulled the e/s colours)
Exotic Pearl under brow,
Trinity in crease and outer 1/4,
Key Lime lash to crease in the middle,
Faith lash to crease on inner 1/4,
Berry Flambe wet lined on top,
Trinity dry lined on bottom,
Flawless mascara.

Keling Lupus Awareness Fundraiser

Kim from Keling is doing another Fundraiser  eye shadow and brush set in support of the fight against Lupus.

This year there will be two pink colours (that look awesome) and a mini eye brush. She is also giving a discount on a few of the face brushes when you buy the Lupus set. If you don't already have the chubby blender this would be a great time to get it. I have most of the Keling brushes and use some of them everyday. My favorites are the chubby blender, the flat top face brush, the large all over and the small all over (I use the large all over almost everyday). Her brushes are really soft, don't shed and are easy to clean. She also has some little bowls that are great for mixing face colours or foiling.

You can buy the set here:

Buzzworthy Really Is Buzzworthy

I am really glad that BE will be releasing kits with new colours and products. I hope Buzzworthy is a sign of things to come. I really like all the products in this kit. I LOVE the High Shine colours so I was very happy to get a second one. From what I understand there will be more HS colours coming soon!
On to the kit, HS Charisma is a champange pink. As you will see in the swatches it is not quite pink. It has a nude neutral tone to it. On the eye it doesn't really look pink to me (but in combination with popular it looks more pink). HS Charisma will be a nice basic. If you like nude beach you will like HSC. The glee radinace is beautiful. It is a great basic and will go well with many looks. Popular is an interesting colour. It is a pinky/reddish/plum with an irridescent blue/green layer that goes away, for the most part, when foiled or applied dry. The blue/green irridescence did make the black eye liner I wore with the second look look greenish.

I also really love the new double ended gloss/lipstick. It is so cute and perfect for your purse. Both colours are great. The lipstick is neutral not too pink or peach. The gloss is bubble gum pink but goes on very sheer on its own.

Overall I really like this kit and I am glad I got it.
I did two looks with this kit.
