Redness Remedy: The jar is larger than a blush sized jar and comes with a click, lock and go sifter. The brush that comes with it is double sided. One side is a somewhat thick concealer brush and the other side is like a dense blush brush. The brush is very soft. The powder itself is VERY yellow (it kind of looks like the eye shadow Alley cat) but it is also quite sheer. It has a nice light scent that you don't notice for very long. I applied the powder over my red areas and at first I really couldn't tell a difference. I think I put on 3 application before I started to feel like the redness was disappearing. It is not a concealer so the redness is not hidden like it is with a concelaer. I put it under the Brightening Face primer so that it would be in contact with my skin and actually help to get rid of the redness. After I put on the primer I put on my concealer and foundation (Fairly Light) as usual. I think the main difference with the redness remedy is that usually by the end of the day some of the redness on my sin peeks through my concealer but with the RR on it didn't. I'm going to use it everyday for a while (I guess until I run out) and see if it has any long term benefits. I will update if I notice anything.
Face Fashion: Prettty Wild: This kit is part of the Face Fashion series but it comes in a bigger box than the others. I know some people are annoyed by this so just keep that in mind. This kit as all new colours in it and a brand new Blue Black Flawless definition volumizing mascara.
Violetta is a light to medium very matte purple/grey. I say very matte because Bare escentual makes grades of matte shadows. Vanilla sugar is matte but it has a little bit of something that doesn't make it look super matte and it goes on a little more smoothly than a super matte shadow. If you like matte shadows you will like both the eye shadows in this kit. Violetta does look purple to me. I compared it to Dove eye shadow and it is more purple, brighter, and more matte. I think it is a similar colour to Lilac Vibe but a completely different texture.
Greenhouse is a very matte army green. When I saw pictures of it I thought it looked like Mermaid but it really doesn't. The closest thing I have to it is For Real, which is similar in colour and texture.
Floret Blush is a nice bright pink blush with some sheen to it. It is not similar in colour to Boost but it has that same kind of glow/sparkle.
Pretty Amazing Vivacious is a deep rose colour. It has really great staying power but I do find the PAs to be kind of thick.
Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Blue Black is a good mascara. I really like the FDVM and wear it a lot, so I was really excited to try the Blue Black version. You can see the blue in it on your lashes but I'm not sure it looks that much different than the regular kind from a distance.
Overall this kit is just okay. If you really like matte shadows this is the kit for you. I think this kit is can be duplicated with other BE shadows. The blush is nice but if you have pink petal that would be a good sub. And I think you could use the rose lipstick and get a similar look. I don't think this one is a must have.
Too Faced Shadow Insurance,
50/50 mix well rested/clear radince all over,
Violetta lash to brow and more heavily lash to crease,

FD Volumizing mascara in Blue Black.

The colours in this kit look so pretty on you! I really want to try that mascara :)
ReplyDeleteThank you!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how the FDVM compares to the Blue Buxom, if you try the FDVM could you compare it to the Buxom.
I think I am going to pass on this kit. This makes the 3rd or 4th Face Fashion in a row that I have passed on. {sigh}
ReplyDeleteI have both Dove and For Real. I love For Real...Dove scares me! I think I can make do with just those two.
BTW you look gorgeous. Even though the texture isnt the best, you make this kit look wonderful!
Thanks Allison. There are going to be some good kits this fall, I'm sure, and I don't think you will regret skipping this one.
