Two FF Pretty Wild looks with Sparkle

The FF: Pretty Wild kit is a little too matte for me. So I decided to try to add some sparkle to it.
These shadows went on more smoothly with the opal primer.
The Blue mascara is growing on me. I think it looks best when you do two coats.

Face Fashion: Pretty Wild and Bare Escentuals Redness Remedy reviews and swatches

All I ordered from the BE preview sale was the Redness Remedy and the Face Fashion Pretty wild kit. I have only used the redness remedy once but I will give you my initial thoughts.

Redness Remedy: The jar is larger than a blush sized jar and comes with a click, lock and go sifter. The brush that comes with it is double sided. One side is a somewhat thick concealer brush and the other side is like a dense blush brush. The brush is very soft. The powder itself is VERY yellow (it kind of looks like the eye shadow Alley cat) but it is also quite sheer. It has a nice light scent that you don't notice for very long. I applied the powder over my red areas and at first I really couldn't tell a difference. I think I put on 3 application before I started to feel like the redness was disappearing. It is not a concealer so the redness is not hidden like it is with a concelaer. I put it under the Brightening Face primer so that it would be in contact with my skin and actually help to get rid of the redness. After I put on the primer I put on my concealer and foundation (Fairly Light) as usual. I think the main difference with the redness remedy is that usually by the end of the day some of the redness on my sin peeks through my concealer but with the RR on it didn't. I'm going to use it everyday for a while (I guess until I run out) and see if it has any long term benefits. I will update if I notice anything.

Face Fashion: Prettty Wild: This kit is part of the Face Fashion series but it comes in a bigger box than the others. I know some people are annoyed by this so just keep that in mind. This kit as all new colours in it and a brand new Blue Black Flawless definition volumizing mascara.
Violetta is a light to medium very matte purple/grey. I say very matte because Bare escentual makes grades of matte shadows. Vanilla sugar is matte but it has a little bit of something that doesn't make it look super matte and it goes on a little more smoothly than a super matte shadow. If you like matte shadows you will like both the eye shadows in this kit. Violetta does look purple to me. I compared it to Dove eye shadow and it is more purple, brighter, and more matte. I think it is a similar colour to Lilac Vibe but a completely different texture.
Greenhouse is a very matte army green. When I saw pictures of it I thought it looked like Mermaid but it really doesn't. The closest thing I have to it is For Real, which is similar in colour and texture.
Floret Blush is a nice bright pink blush with some sheen to it. It is not similar in colour to Boost but it has that same kind of glow/sparkle.
Pretty Amazing Vivacious is a deep rose colour. It has really great staying power but I do find the PAs to be kind of thick.
Flawless Definition Volumizing Mascara in Blue Black is a good mascara. I really like the FDVM and wear it a lot, so I was really excited to try the Blue Black version. You can see the blue in it on your lashes but I'm not sure it looks that much different than the regular kind from a distance.
Overall this kit is just okay. If you really like matte shadows this is the kit for you. I think this kit is can be duplicated with other BE shadows. The blush is nice but if you have pink petal that would be a good sub. And I think you could use the rose lipstick and get a similar look. I don't think this one is a must have.

Buxom Amplified Mascara

I got the new Buxom Amplified mascara after I heard some very positive reviews of it. The brush is the innovative part of this product. The brush is a thin plastic brush with teeth on it. When you turn the end of the cap you can increase the length of the brush and when you twist it back you shorten the length of the brush. In the longer position the brush is supposed to give you volume, which I think it does. In the shortened position the brush is supposed to seperate and lengthen your lashes. I do think it seperates your lashes well in the shorter position but I'm not sure it lengthens any more in that position than in the other (but if you work the tips of your lashes it does give you quite a bit of length).

Overall I like this mascara. It is a nice dark black and it does create big lashes. The small brush is also good for getting into the root of your lashes and for the outer corners. The formula is thin and goes on smoothly but I tend to get thin formulas on my lash line and on my water line, so if I'm not careful I could end up with a real mess. I tried the brush in both positions on their own and then put it in one position and then the other one after the other. I think my favorite method (so far) is to use the brush in the short position first on one eye then the other and then go back to the first eye with the brush in the long position. That's what I did for today's look. I'll have to use this a little longer to really decide if I love it.

New Kits at Sephora

There are two new kits at Sephora!

The colour shift kit that we had a sneek peek of a few weeks ago and the Insider kit that is introducing the Pretty Amazing lip colour. There are two new items in the Insider kit a new radiance called Bright Radiance and a new Pretty Amazing lip colour in Pizzazz. In the Colour Shift kit the eye shadow is new, the lipgloss is new (I think) and the B&B liner in Black Sea is new. I will be getting the Colour Shift kit ASAP!

The new Buxom Lip Tarnish that are a combination gloss/stain/lipstick/plumper are up but you can't buy them yet. I am so excited to try these. You can see swatches here.

Also the QVC August TSV is up. The TSV Price is $51.36

Auto-Delivery A220254

The TSV has a giant foundation, a 2 oz regular face primer and Advanced Clear Radiance, which has some skin treatment benefits (it has vitamins in it).

Smoldering Peach

This was inspired by the heat wave we are having. I love the way High Shine meteroite turns a smoky eggplant when you buff it out.

EYES:

High Shine Meteroite lash into crease on outer 1/2,
Paradise lash to crease on inner 2/3,
Tiger's Eye wet lined on top,
FD Volumizing mascara.

CHEEKS: Vintage Peach blush
LIPS: French Pastry lipstick

Two looks: Dark and Diffused crease

I used the same method for both of these looks. I wanted to make sure my outer corner and crease were dark but I also wanted it to look diffused. So I did the lid colour and then used the darker colour first and then the medium toned shade over it. I think it worked really will with the High Shine colour. I think the second look looked better in person.
